Funding boost for Self-directed Support Dundee & Angus

Independent Advice and Support got a fantastic boost this week when the Self-directed Support Service Dundee & Angus were awarded Scottish Government funding of almost half a million pounds, over the next three years.

Based in Dundee Carers Centre, Team Manager Meg Marr said: “We are delighted that our bid was successful and our team have been recognised at a national level for the high quality resources and support that we have developed over the last six years. This investment will enable us to increase access to Self-directed Support reaching more people who could benefit from information and guidance to manage their own support. Self-Directed Support affords the opportunity to be involved in designing and arranging your care in a way that works for you, with support from someone who has knowledge of your situation and can help to put things in place. You can be as ‘hands on’ as you like or if you prefer hand it over to a qualified individual to arrange for you. Choice, Control and Flexibility – you get a life not a plan.” For more information contact the SDS team on 200422 or email [email protected]
