Summer Challenge #6 “Penny Walk”
This week’s challenge is all about getting outside, enjoying your local area and spending time together.
For this challenge, you will need a coin and a small container (a clean plastic tub or Tupperware would be perfect.) First of all, put your coin in your plastic tub and then get ready for going outside – remember to dress for the weather and wear sun cream if it is sunny or hot. If you are younger remember to always have an adult to accompany you.
Once outside, flip your coin inside your tub to decide which direction to go in. HEADS is left and TAILS is right.
Every time you get to a junction use the coin to decide which way you are going! You can swap around who gets to flip the coin in the tub. Hopefully, you will end up going on a route you haven’t been before!
We can’t wait to hear about where you end up and all the fun things you saw on the way. Was there a cloud that looked like something else like an animal or a face? Maybe you spotted a bird or a rabbit?
If you want to share where you got to or photos from along the way, then get in touch via our social media pages or let a worker know and we can share it with others to inspire them to get involved too.
What if I can’t go outside just now?
Don’t worry we have a challenge made just for you!
We would love you to share with us what you can see from your window. Maybe you have someone who runs past your home dressed up in fancy dress to cheer everyone up? Or maybe you did some cloud spotting and found one that was a cool shape? Did you see a bird or animal but you weren’t sure what they were? If so we can help you work out what it was using online guides, just ask a worker for details of this.
We can’t wait to hear about what you have spotted from your window this week. If you want to share photos of what you spotted from your window then get in touch via our social media pages or let a worker know and we can share it with others to inspire them to get involved too.
