Young Scot Attainment Event – 5th February 2020
Some of our young carers attended an event on Wednesday 5th February 2020, to discuss the achievements of the Young Scot Scottish Attainment Challenge, which was a national strategic partnership with the Scottish Government.
Over the last three years Young Scot partnered with North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, The Highland councils, Dundee, Falkirk and North Lanarkshire councils. These partnerships used the Young Scot National Entitlement Card in innovative ways to give local entitlements to young people who are facing significant barriers to their attainment.
This event provided an opportunity for all the councils involved to share how they have improved the health and wellbeing of local young people since the scheme launched.
A selection of young carers were selected to lead on an ice breaker for the 50 delegates that attended the event at Menzieshill Community Centre and also took part in the panel, who directed questions around the attainment challenge to a representative from the Scottish Attainment Challenge Policy Unit.
The event was a huge success and our young carers were commended on their hard work.
Well done everyone!
