Carers Week 2026 (8–14 June) is a chance to shine a light on unpaid carers and explore how we can all help build more carer-friendly communities.

At Dundee Carers Centre, we believe that recognising carers, improving understanding, and making support easy to access are key steps in helping carers feel visible, valued and supported.

What does “Carer Friendly Communities” mean?

A carer-friendly community is one where:

  • People recognise and understand who unpaid carers are
  • Support is visible, accessible, and easy to navigate
  • Employers, services and local organisations are carer aware
  • Carers feel confident to ask for help and be heard

💜 Get involved

You don’t have to be a professional to make a difference.

During Carers Week, take a moment to:

  • Check in with someone who might be a carer
  • Share information about support services
  • Encourage workplaces and groups to become carer aware
