Locality Spotlight: Westend Connecting Carers Café & Drop-in

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Locality Spotlight Series, which will highlight one of our groups each month. This will include interviews with attendees, photos of the activities the groups participate in, and a helpful walkthrough video to guide you on how to access the group from outside.
This month, our Locality Spotlight takes us to the Westend Connecting Carers Café and Drop-in, a welcoming space where unpaid carers can connect, share experiences, and find support in a friendly and understanding space.
- Location: Blackness Library
- Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm
- When: Connecting Carers Café – 2nd Monday of every month
Drop-in – every other Monday
During our visit, we spoke with Pat, Katriana, and Janice, who shared why the group means so much to them.
Why People Keep Coming Back
For Katriana, Janice, and many others, the café isn’t just a meeting—it’s a lifeline. Whether it’s a chat over tea, a chance to share challenges, or simply a break in a supportive environment, the group offers:
- A sense of belonging
- Emotional support from peers
- Practical advice and shared experiences
- Time to recharge and feel understood
See It for Yourself
We’ve created a short walkthrough video showing how to access the group within Blackness Library from the front entrance—making it even easier for new attendees to feel confident about coming along.
