Sofia and Sandra are the support workers for Maryfield locality.

They work closely with schools and organisations in the area to help support carers within the local community.

Carers Decide Groupwork Programme

Tom is the Groupwork Worker for the Maryfield locality.

Carers Decide Groupwork is an 8-week programme offering an opportunity for carers to meet and learn from each other’s caring experience.
Sessions are facilitated by Carers Centre staff and are available online and face to face.

Connecting Carers Café Relaunches

Dundee Carers Centre are restarting their Connecting Carers Cafe – come enjoy a cuppa and meet other carers and support staff.

  • Wednesday 3 November 2021
    10am – 12pm

Our first café will be held at Wellbeing Works where there will be a chance to tour the newly launched Community Toolbox initiative.

The Community Carers Café runs on the first Wednesday of every month.

Due to Covid-19 spaces are limited and booking is essential.

One-to-one Support Community Venues

We will be able to offer one-to-one meetings at the Learning Room in the V&A Museum every Tuesday afternoon during October.

We can also offer one-to-one meetings in Arthurstone Library or Victoria Gardens.

Seasons for Growth for Urdu-Speaking BAME Carers

For carers who have experienced significant change, grief and loss and would like to explore new ways to deal with change and loss in their lives.

Will be delivered on weekly basis over 4-8 weeks.

DIWC Digital Classes

We are able to  signpost carers from Maryfield to Digital classes at Dundee International Women’s Centre that takes place on Tuesday afternoons 1-3pm.

Classes will teach basic IT skills e.g. conducting video calls and sending emails.
