In February 2020, Florence was appointed by the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as an honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE), in recognition of her services to the Independent Living Movement.
Florence said:
With experience in leading support organisations in the field of social care, I am delighted to have joined Dundee Carers Centre for this interim period. The Centre has a great reputation thanks to the commitment of its very committed team under Lucinda’s leadership. I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and colleagues in the sector, and ensure that this transition period leaves the door open to an exciting future for the organisation.
