Carers Winter Assistance Fund

UPDATE

Due to high demand we have had to stop taking further applications for the Carers Winter Assistance Fund at the present time.

Dundee Carers Centre have been awarded funds from Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership to provide further support to carers over the winter in ‘recognition of the enormous role they play in looking after loved ones, and the added pressure many have faced during the cost-of-living crisis.

The Dundee Carers Winter Assistance Fund will provide financial assistance to unpaid carers in greatest need where they are unable to access this help in other ways e.g., Scottish Welfare Fund.

The fund will cover most items that will make a difference to the financial wellbeing of the carer. We will operate on the basis that the carer knows best what this is and can include:

  • Food and fuel
  • Travel (including public transport)
  • White goods
  • Winter clothing
  • Bedding, furniture
  • Technology

The fund will not cover the following:

  • Paying for things that have already been purchased
  • Paying debt

Closing Date is 5pm on Friday 1 March 2024
