Meet our new student Counsellor – Veronique Malcolm
Name: Veronique Malcolm
What made you get involved as a counsellor at the carers centre?
I left my former job in education to begin counselling training. As the impact of lockdowns was still being felt, I realised that I wanted to direct my energy to better support people and their development through difficult times.
Dundee is my adopted city and I feel really honoured to have been made welcome as part of the student counselling team at Dundee Carers.
Random fact/something about you?
A very long time ago, I was asked to co-write a song with local singer songwriter Michael Marra, about French singer Johnny Halliday. I then took part in the recording of the piece with the Penny Dainties.
Something you do to support your wellbeing?
Making music with friends and spending time outdoors are some of my favourite activities. I believe that they contribute to my overall health and wellbeing.
