Summer 2025 Highlights: Supporting Unpaid Carers in Dundee

This summer, Dundee Carers Centre supported over 400 young carers, young adult carers and adult carers through a packed programme of fun, friendship, and transition-focused events.
From exciting trips to Edinburgh Zoo, Blair Drummond Safari Park, and Dundee Science Centre to creative challenges, beach adventures, and inclusive family fun days, our team created safe spaces for young carers to relax, connect, and time away from their caring role.

Many events helped young carers and young adult carers navigate key transitions—whether moving from primary to secondary school or preparing for life after high school. These experiences built confidence, strengthened peer support, and created lasting memories.

Young Adult Carers also enjoyed enriching outings, including a boat trip on the River Tay and a visit to Discovery Point, offering opportunities for learning and connection.
Our Summer Family Fun Day welcomed over 60 carers and their families for a joyful celebration filled with games, storytelling, face painting, and even a fire engine visit!
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with carers describing the events as “fun,” “valuable,” and “uplifting.” We’re proud of the impact these activities had and grateful to everyone who took part.
Thank you for helping us make Summer 2025 one to remember!
