Taking on the Kiltwalk for Unpaid Carers and Disabled People

On Sunday 17 August we will see 16 people take on the Mighty Stride and the Wee Wander to help raise vital funds for Dundee Carers Centre.
Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 178,000 people taking part since 2016.
We brought together a few of our walkers to check in and see how training is going and an opportunity to meet before the big day. Here are just some of the reasons why they are walking for Dundee Carers Centre:
“To help raise funds for a charity that helps so many people whos unpaid devotion to providing care to family and friends.”
“Because im mad – no! But it helps! My dad and mum has dementia. I know im going to call on Dundee Carers for help in the future – so why not…”
“To raise funds for the Centre and also to support my mum.”
We’re thrilled to have 16 walkers signed up to this year’s Kiltwalk as part of our “Because We Care” fundraising campaign. Every step they take will help raise awareness of the growing need for support for unpaid carers of all ages and disabled people in Dundee. By walking and fundraising for Dundee Carers Centre our amazing walkers will help to sustain our services and support, including local community carer groups, and ensure no one caring for a loved one has to do it alone.
