Student Counsellors & Volunteer Counsellors

Dundee Carers Centre is a thriving and innovative local charity that aims to improve the lives of unpaid carers and disabled people by giving help, advice, and access to learning.

The counselling service offers up to 12 sessions to unpaid carers in Dundee and we are in a position to offer students to have their placement with us and for volunteer counsellors.

  • You would have a set time each week for seeing clients with a minimum time commitment of 3 hours.
  • Successful applications will be supported by our qualified staff counsellors and be part of the wider Carers Support Team.
  • Volunteer counsellors will be able to claim for their external supervision for their client work with the counselling service. We offer a tailored counselling approach to each client and therefore welcome applications from any modality.
  • Students should be working towards a Postgraduate level qualification of above and volunteers should hold a Postgraduate level qualification or above and be a member of a regulatory body.
